April 17, 2012 - ASKING YOU TO PRAY FOR A SPECIFIC NEED FOR THE BUTTERFLY MINISTRY FOR GIRLS! PRAYER WORKS!
In August 2010, a little girl came into our lives as a participant of an on-going program at a local library. There we help to teach with the use of the American Girl historical doll series. She was a beautiful little girl with brown hair and eyes who loved butterflies. This little "butterfly girl", as we call her touched our hearts and had a tremendous impact on our lives.
She loved the American Girl historical dolls and the chance to interact with the characters and their American history stories, yet she never had the chance to have one of her very own.
Our little butterfly died in an automobile accident in March of 2011. As leaders of the program, we decided to start a non-profit organization in her memory to give American Girl dolls to other children in need. We wanted to create donations for girls.
The Butterfly Ministry is now set up to accept damaged, used or new American Girl dolls in honor of the Butterfly Girl. We will accept all used dolls in any condition. If they are in need of repair, they will be sent to the American Girl Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Cash donations will also be accepted to help repair dolls, or to purchase used and new dolls.
We also collect new and used American Girl books for girls in foster care.
All dolls will be issued to little girls that meet the qualifications of The Butterfly Ministry based on need and/or agency referral. A doll can bring comfort to a little girl in times of darkness. They so often have to adjust to new surroundings in a short period of time. Some children are in placed in shelters due to family financial difficulties.
Maybe your children or grandchildren once experienced the love of these dolls but no longer use them. This is where you can help. You can make a difference.
This ministry has been set up to ensure that joy is brought to the lives of others. We are committed to serving God and the needs of precious, little girls.
